English for Business : overview |
This module is an introduction to Business English. It targets students in first year Licence students, mainly but not exclusively, enrolled in programmes of study related to Business, management, economics, finance, banking, and commerce. This module fits especially the requirements of the first year of the following courses of study:
This module is designed with the average Baccalaureate-level Tunisian student in mind. It is based on the assumption that the student in question enters first year university after having received preliminary preparation in English as a foreign language (EFL) according to the national curriculum for secondary school that situates outgoing learners within the range of intermediate/upper-intermediate levels.
Therefore, this module is conceived with the aim of refreshing and consolidating the pre-requisite level of the average student in General English while incorporating gradually language content (themes, lexis, grammar, and pronunciation) and language skills applicable to professional communication in business contexts.
