Ongoing Training in English for Law
This course is an introduction to the language and discourse of the legal profession. It focuses on developing the linguistic and rhetorical skills which are required to understand, analyze, and possibly produce key genres of immediate importance to the learners in the fields of law and political science.
This course has three major objectives:
- Familiarizing students with the key academic genres which orchestrate the legal profession.
- Recognizing the basic concepts which typify these academic genres in particular and the legal profession in general.
- Familiarizing learners with the basic grammatical and discourse patterns occurring within those genres.
- Developing and brushing up on the reading, listening, writing and speaking skills.
