Objectives

 

This Bachelor's program aims to train a graduate with comprehensive knowledge and methodology, capable of:

 

  • Methodological understanding of Islamic legal sciences: Comprehending the primary sources of Islamic legislation according to a rigorous scientific methodology, along with mastery of historical and jurisprudential knowledge.
  • Analysis and deduction skills: Analyzing Islamic foundational texts (Quranic verses and Hadiths), extracting their meanings, and applying rules of deduction to derive legal rulings and higher objectives (Maqasid).
  • Scientific research skills: Gathering information from primary and contemporary sources, critically evaluating it scientifically, and formulating research results into methodologically consistent academic works.
  • Communication and dialogue skills: Expressing Islamic concepts in clear and correct language, and engaging in constructive intellectual dialogues while respecting the etiquette of disagreement.
  • Adherence to Islamic research ethics: Demonstrating academic integrity and honesty in citations and quotations, embodying scholarly humility, and showing fairness when presenting opposing views.
  • Awareness of identity and belonging: Recognizing the responsibility of carrying Islamic knowledge toward society and the nation, and promoting values of moderation, balance, and conscious openness.
  • Critical and flexible thinking: Adopting a balanced critical approach to evaluating ideas and information, and addressing heritage and contemporary issues with flexibility and awareness of higher objectives.

Admission Requirements

 

Registration for the first year of the Bachelor's degree (L1) is open to:

  • Tunisians holding a High School Diploma (Baccalaureate) from 2025 or previous years.
  • Foreign students holding a High School Diploma (Baccalaureate).
  • All academic specialties are eligible for registration.
Application Procedures

How is the Program Structured?

 

  • Teaching is conducted primarily online via the platform of the Virtual University of Tunis (UVT).
  • Students are guided and supported by supervising professors throughout the three years of study (L1, L2, L3), with regularly scheduled weekly pedagogical activities.
  • Online supervision and follow-up sessions are also organized.
  • Exams are strictly in-person at the Higher Institute of Islamic Civilization of Tunis, as well as in examination centers in several countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Belgium, and the Sultanate of Oman. Their specific locations will be announced in due time.
